We have not done this topic on the other board in a couple of years, while I do not think it has ever been done on here . The great thing about this topic is that we can talk about our favorite scenes from our favorite episodes, in addition to the ones that made the most stinker episodes of WWW worth watching . So, to get the ball rolling, let me just give you a few of my favorites: James talking with Richard Henry in TNOT Freebooters (anyone who knows me on this board know that I am one of his fans). James saving Artie from a potentially dangerous spider bite in TNOT Poisionious Posey. Artie's disguise as the priest and the ensuing fight scene in TNOT Cossacks The extended scene in TNOT Montezuma's Hordes with Artie's Swedish waiter disguise, Jim talking with the Mexican official, and the ensuing fight when some heavies tried to cart him off in a hearse ;D! The wonderful fight scene in TNOT Egyptian Queen ;D! Antoinette feeding Loveless with venison and the ensuing conversation in TNOT Green Terror. Both of Artie's disguises and his line in TNOT Bubbling Death--It's the story of my life--I Touch 'em and I faint." Loveless' "Peter Piper" exchange with Volitare in TNOT Wizard Shook The Earth ;D. Artie's first scene on the train with James in TNOT Inferno. Those are just a few of my favorites; now its your turn

Um... Limbo - when the restored Vautrain gives his opinion of the various Union generals. I especially like the look on his face and the tone of his voice when he says, 'Burnside??'
Watery Death - the quick change scene.
Murderous Spring - Loveless's discovery that Kitten has eaten all the fudge.
I'm sure I'll think of more later.

For me it will always be Artie's "I'm bored..." rant as Bluebeard the trapper in Firebrand. The timing in the scene is impeccable!

Mine tend to be very dramatic scenes.
Such as when Artie learns Jim has been killed in Big Blast.
When Jim believes Artie had died on the table, his face covered with cloth in Howling Light.
I like the moment in Bars of Hell when Jim is gagged while in the "chair" and he obviously believes not being able to tell the executioner who he is will doom him--until he sees the executioner.
Murderous Spring: Jim believes he has murdered Artie, and then Artie walks into the hospital room.
Death Masks when Artie momentarily believes he has killed Jim.
Bogus Bandits when Artie alerts Jim he's going to make a move by invoking Great Aunt Maud and then hurls himself into the power grid.
Jack O'Diamonds when Jim is holding off the Imperialistas as Sordo goes for help, and then Artie arrives in the nick of time.
Circus of Death, what I call the white shirt scenes, when the boys are discussing the case in the parlor car and end up realizing the source of the paper for the counterfeit money.
Of course the two scenes in Pistoleros, when Jim believes Artie has been killed, and then when Artie steps out onto the landing before Jim's disbelieving gaze.
There are more of course. I think I have at least one favorite scene in every episode. I'll post about some more comic scenes later.

CalGal has nailed some of my favorite scenes, which is great, because great minds ... as they say but of course there are sooo many to pick here are a few others I will always love either for the laughs or the angst... or the ... scenery, LOL Murderous Spring, when Artie shows up at the 'asylum' and Jim's looking under his partner's coat for bullet holes... clearly the younger agent isn't yet sure he's seeing things as they are The very beginning of W3 and of Inferno... Artie mocking Jim as the prisoner/ 'renegade' ... not that funny the very first time you see it, but afterwards, always fun. Great 'scenery' here too! Artie and Lil, pretty much any of their scenes in Big Blast are fun, sweet and just fantastic, and then when Jim shows up in Faustina's 'dungeon... the look on Artie's face back to Murderous Spring, Loveless and his giant self in that mirror The whole scene on the staircase and then Jim's face in Pistoleros when Roper asks him [about the man they both think is Artie] 'Is he dead?' [I'd like to respectfully throttle the Colonel at that point, even though he is the real article] [despite the lack of Artie] there are two scenes I love in Winged Terror 1- when Jim talks a hypnotized Frank into shooting the mirror 2- later on when Jim finds the spectacles in his own pocket and glumly tells Frank he's [Jim is] a walking time bomb - I think I have that one right, or I may have mixed two scenes together. the long, long drawn out fight in Vipers... down by the lake or the river, its so well done imo, despite a problem here or there with the condition of Jim's shirt One of the many wonderful scenes between Jim and Loveless - this one in 'Wizard' where Loveless breaks the beaker in his hand and talks about pain being his lifelong 'friend' - I've always felt that was Michael talking, through his artistry and that of John Niebuhl. Artie in two scenes of absolute outrage In Big Blast where the agent tells him about 'Jim' and the explosion with the Cabinet officers - Artie isn't about to sit and take the man's suggestions... and in Death Masks, Artie talking to Stark, using every iota of his shock and grief from the moment before - 'I did your dirty work for you... ' just perfection Jim's wordless salute and long, wordless moment at 'Artie's' grave in Pistoleros one more: Artie's stammering around trying to propose to Lilly... he's just adorable and really almost shy... you gotta love it, even if you understand Lilly's reaction. And I do. I just think she should have run after Artie the next day or the next week and said, 'Boy was I wrong! Let's elope!' [ I know tv series back then didn't want their male leads to be married... or engaged for that matter... but this wasn't Bonanza, it wasn't a death curse as far as Artie or Jim was concerned, was it?] nuff for now... g'mornin'

Jim fans always appreciate Artie's ability to rescue Jim from bad situations. Most of the time it is more or less planned, but a couple of times it appears to be impromptu, and I enjoy watching the scenes.
One is in Deadly Bed when Artie, disguised as a peon, emerges to see Jim in dire peril, strapped to the oversized gong. He immediately goes into an act as a drunken peon. Although it doesn't quite work the way as planned, at least he tried.
The other I can think of is in Arrow. Again, Artie--this time disguised as a lieutenant--steps outside and sees a manacled Jim being led to the guardhouse. Once again Artie acts--and this time as an inebriated southern officer--and gets himself incarcerated as well. The ruse ends up working better than in Deadly Bed.

I watched Limbo last night. It has a number of great scenes, but these come to mind:
When Jack Maitland dies and Jim picks him up, stark grief on his face.
The expression on Jim's face when Vautrain tells him he has been "wallowing in hate" toward him.
When Vautrain is trying to convince Jim to leave the burning house. He first tries "That's an order, Captain!" and when that doesn't work, he invokes Jim's friendship with Artie. I like how Jim's eyes shift toward the burning explosives, and then he goes to help Artie up.

The ending scene in the golden cobra cause I think its cute:D the part where Artie discovers Jim isn't dead in the big blast:D the ending part of the wizard shook the earth where Artie says smorgasbord because thats what inspired our sandwich smorgasbord on christmas eve every year:D and the part in skulls where Artie does his own eulogy:D and as Double Take said any part where Jim is shirtless:D sorry for writing so much.

Well, Ace, the slow internet strikes again! I can't watch your great scenes that you made (and I know a lot of work went into that!) here at home. But I've bookmarked the links so that when we go to the library and I have access to their internet, I'll give it a try there.
Glad to see you posting again, buddy!

Casual Killer - drunken Hamlet. Puppeteer - drunken barfly. Skulls - drunken act when Tigo gets the drop on Artie. Arrow - drunken officer to get thrown into the jail along with Jim...
Sense a pattern there?

And to follow up that, I like the scene a short while later when Artie is raving over the ingenious mechanism of the dart--much to Jim's annoyance.

Finally somewhere with fast enough internet to watch the videos, Ace. What fun they are!
Ok, I'm chuckling madly over the Casual Killer one!
Ah, the Pistoleros one! I watched it through twice. Jim's face seeing Artie, and then Artie's face seeing Jim. What buddies, what a friendship!
'Watch... that... jug!' One of my favorite lines!
And our first ever view of Jim West - no shirt! Sets the tone right there...
Yeah, just a little bit carried away!
'Jim... Jim... Jim... Gaahh!'
And the snake pit. I knew you'd do the snake pit!
Going to bookmark them all. Lovely job!

The opening scene with Artie's disguise as the man who heckles James on his way to have his meeting with President Grant, wherein Artie does that faux-hangman's noose bit and laughs sinisterly.
Of course, Artie rubs it in again when he visits James on the train.
This is the other episode that you reviewed that I reviewed as well. If you want me to bump up the thread so you can read it, please let me know. Zimmerman.

I think if Artie hadn't done that noose thing on the train when he walks in as well as the voice and line about the boots, most of the audience would not have made the connection that the partner walking in the door and the cackling drunk from the first scene were the same man.

Returning Dead is one of my least favorite episodes, but it does have the one great scene where Artie disarms the several bad guys and turns Jim loose on them.

I forgot another of my own favorite scenes - a very brief one - in Plague,
Artie finally catches up with Jim outside the cave the bad guys have literally holed up in, and says: [approximately]
'I can't leave you alone for an hour without your getting into trouble!'
-- this always cracks me up, for three reasons:
first, the episodes ran 1 hour [until modified for commercials]
second, this was one of the eps filmed after Ross' returned - and of course he'd been away, as had Artie for much longer than one hour
last, Jim [Robert] visibly cracks up when Artie says this, which has always made me wonder - did Ross ad lib this line? I don't know if the producers would have allowed ad libs, but it just has that feel - of a line that Robert as Jim wasn't expecting.
