I think it is to goad Kitten further. Agree. Antoinette is the only recurring female role in the series, isn't she? Miss Piecemeal was on twice, but it hardly seems to count. I love Antoinette! The only person who can get around the doctor. She had quite a sly sense of humor--and the way she flirted with Jim shows that she had a mind of her own. She wasn't just Miguelito's Mindless Minion.

Poor Kitten. She obviously came to care for the little doctor, yet it's also obvious that for some reason, he "played" her, allowing her to think he cared more than he really did, and of course, offering to do surgery to create a beautiful woman, something she desperately wanted. In the end she thought she was getting her revenge by allowing Loveless and Antoinette to drown with her. Apparently Loveless did not save her when he reversed the laws of physics. Or did he?

Look at the way he turned on Belladonna in Bogus Bandits. He would have never done that to Antoinette, however, I'm quite sure. The plot would have had to have been written differently if Antoinette was still around.
It's sad that Michael and Phoebe split up in real life which caused her to leave the series.

Not that they split up, but he got married and wanted his wife to be his cohort on the show. When she flubbed the role of Belladonna the powers that be put in the other actress. His wife broke up their act, though, I believe. Or she played a hand in it, at least.

Yes, as I recall from the book, the wife played a big hand in splitting them up. I no longer have the book. No clue where it is. ;D

The book is available on Kindle, 'cause after seeing it mentioned on this forum fairly recently I bought and read it. Wonderful biography of a fascinating man.
And as for Loveless and Antoinette, I definitely like the two together. I found her very useful in Cold Blue Light, using her as almost an intermediary between Jim and Loveless, allowing them to form short-lived truces (two!) in that adventure.
Edit to add: The book is 'The Big Life of a Little Man' by Sherry Kelly.

Hey!! Who ya calling mindless! ;D No, no, I didn't mean the Minions! (And I'm one myself!) I was making a point about Antoinette in particular. I shouldn't even have used the word "just."

Okay, okay, okay already. We've had so many designations for the topic of this original post, that I'm going to make a unilateral decision. (Unless Admin objects - I'm pushy, not stupid!)
The name of the group for Dr. Miguelito Loveless is:
Miguelito's Militia
def: a military force of civillians to supplement a regular army OR a military force that engages in rebel activities
I don't know why I didn't think of that one before!
If anyone wants the rank of Looney Lieutenant, I'll arrange for your commission.
