Hee hee hee. Bet you didn't think I could do it!
A wise villain should come to realize You can tell by the look in Jim’s eyes That doddering old coot… Bum with the loaded snoot… ‘Tis Artie to the rescue in disguise

My claim to infamy is that if you give me a topic and five minutes, I can give you a limerick.
My greatest accomplishment to date is when some folks at the Border's coffeeshop tried to stump me with the word 'pendiculation' (the process of yawning and stretching). After looking the word up, I came back with:
There are certain moves that will fetch Men's eyes, for it seems that the letch Concur, as a nation That pendiculation Uncovers so much in a stretch

I never could write poetry. All my best grades in English class came from essays, not poems. I did have a friend years ago who could come up with limericks seemingly in the blink of an eye. His were not always quite so... clean... as Silver's.

But see, the thing is, I'm NOT poetical. I'm some sort of idiot savant in this one type of poem. I think everyone around here knows whatever writing ability I have lies in prose. You want to hear something weird? A coworker just sent me information (like, after I made up the above limerick) about some guy having a contest for short stories or poems about the upcoming events of there being a date next week of 11/1/11 and also 11/11/11. He calling it 'Ones Upon a Time' and requires the entries to start with that phrase. The web-site is www.onesuponaday.net/. So, I just came up with and sent in the following (my date of birth is December 12, 1962): Ones Upon a Day seems oh-so-nifty But just ones in the date’s kind of shifty You’ll see what I prefer When I this do aver: That on Twelve Twelve Twelve I will be fifty!

Watching Vicious Valentine, and just caught Artie doing something that really took me back. Artie has just shown up as the tailor and Miss Valentine has just walked into the room. As she crosses behind Artie and the groom, Artie has one hand pinching the bottom of the groom's sleeve -- but what is Artie's other hand doing? Anyone know? He's stroking the pin in his hair just before he pins it into the sleeve. Anyone else ever done that trick? The oils of your hair lubricate the pin so it slides through the fabric easier. I know this, because we used cloth diapers for our first babies, and I remember my late husband rubbing the diaper pins in his hair when he was about to pin the diaper. (Yes, I had a husband who would change diapers -- that man was a keeper!) That seems oddly familiar, but I don't know why. I didn't have to do that with my kids diapers My hubby was a diaper changer too, and he does laundry and dishes ;D Definitely a keeper!

I can think of a couple of instances off hand where Jim gets that "glint" in his eyes. One is Bogus Bandits when the old blacksmith shows up just as Loveless was about to shoot Jim, and the other is Underground Terror, when the Brit dowser comes into the prison yard.
