Some of my favorite scenes in the Wild Wild West are those when the boys interact. Sometimes it's when they are of one mind when taking care of a bad guy or executing an escape plan, or they are just talking.
One of my very favorites is what I call the "white shirt scene," in The Night of the Circus of Death. In the train, they have a long conversation about the case they are working on while donning their white shirts, ending with when they both realize that the paper used to make the counterfeit money had to come from the mint itself. It's one of the main reasons I watch this episode. (Doesn't hurt that Jim is slow in putting on his shirt...)

I just watched that one last night :-) I love the scenes between Jim and Artie where their friendship and brotherhood just shine through :-) that's why I love a lot of the tags, whether or not they have anything to do with the episode I love the tag to Cadre when Artie accidentally knocks himself out and Jim congratulates his sleeping friend

Another good tag where the friendship shines is for Green Terror.

I do like when one of them plays "hero" to the other or thinks the other's dead. RC did an excellent job in Fugitives hiding in the steeple when Desmond is going to shoot Artie in 60 seconds. The eyes, the mouth, the gulp, dang he looks worried Previous to that in Fugitives I always get a kick out of Jim conveying to Artie where Plank is hidden ;D And of course their quarreling over the book of addresses of women across the country that Artie lifted from Plank

I love that church steeple scene in Fugitives with the view of Jim's eyes through the slats. (And then Artie is so calm as he lights the cigar; he knows Jim is coming.)
And I always get such a kick out of the "here's the church, there's the steeple" hand play. We played that as kids!

we used to play that to, how'd it go, here's the church, here's the steeple, open the doors and see all the people, close the doors and hear them pray (isn't there one more line to this?) yes, Jim looks worried through the slats and Artie is indeed so calm and knows that Jim is coming oh and yes, I love the Green Terror tag too hehehe, they both look like "oh no... not again!" at the end there

Green Terror gets my vote, too. But what I like most of all are what seems to be ad libs. In TNOT Man Eating House when Jim & Artie are walking thru the cobwebs & Jim asks rather playfully, "Get any on you?" And, for a moment, it looks more like ROSS about to break character and laugh. But, Artie sneaks back in. ;D
I like when Bob & Ross shine thru & not just Jim & Artie.

My all time favorite is THE scene in Pistoleros when Jim see Artie above him on the stairs. Artie has that affectionate little smile and Jim is just gob smacked. It's one of the only times Jim's control slips and he looks a bit venerable.

I think you can tell by my signature that that's one of my favorite scenes too, in Pistoleros. In fact, my favorite scene of all.

Well of course that is THE scene CalGal I imagine Jim must've needed at the very least a day to recover from that mission and yes, rossgasm, that scene is quite a riot I love the double-take Artie/Ross does ;D

I love the Jim and Artie scenes in Golden Cobra. The whole teaser with their practice fight and the arrival of the note is superb.
Then the scene where Artie arrives as the rope magician and asks if Jim is an unbeliever. We are supposed to note that Jim doesn’t recognize him at this point. But when Artie invokes the dark powers of the four domains, “… the power of the North, the power of the East, of the South…and the power of the WEST!” The recognition and facial exchange between them is priceless.
And who couldn’t love the kitty cats and saucer of milk scene in the tag? ;D

Oh yes, Golden Cobra does have some priceless bits, I do love that part of recognition when Artie is the magician (and I LOVE how modest he is bout showing a little leg ) But I love Jim when he opens the box :-P

Tonight's ep is Assassin. I wouldn't say it was one of the best scenes but it always gives me a good chuckle when Jim opens the coffin and finds Artie in it instead of Halvertson

I enjoy Assassin though it's not an absolute favorite. I like the tag where, when Artie kisses the colonel and she obviously enjoys it, Jim is a bit miffed. Then when the beautiful bodyguard appears, it's Jim's turn to get the upper hand.

Hi,new to the group but not the boys. I just started getting back into watching the Eps again and just finished with TNOT Skulls and had to chuckle with Jims and Artie interplay. The two play so well off of each that its always fun to watch. Although I did a good chuckle with Col Richmond mouthing for Artie to shut up during the eulogy <G>

Hi nutter. Welcome aboard.
For me the best part of the show (other than when Jim goes shirtless ;D ) is the chemistry between Jim and Artie (Robert and Ross). It's easy to think of them being best friends, caring about each other's welfare and working in synch.

Welcome, nutter---hope you like it here. Skulls is a great example of some of Jim & Artie's cool moments together---and I meant to bring up the fighting scene at the beginning of Golden Cobra myself yesterday but then Paradox Eyes beat me to it!! I thought how funny it was when they both started laughing so hard, then Artie said "I got you pretty good tho" and Jim said "yeah-right here" pointing to a little spot on his hand. I thought that was all ad-lib at first and they just left it in. ;D

I've wondered if that was ad-libbed myself. You can see that RC has a cut on his hand in other scenes. Maybe the stunt guy did whack him during the rehearsals or he cut himself in another stunt. I do love that scene though. They are so relaxed and having fun with it.

I was just thinking last night about TNOT Big Bang. When Jim finally frees himself (what took so long, if it was so easy?) and goes to find Artie. The dejection that Artie's whole form screams, you just know he's sitting there (in that adorable costume) pondering the fate of his lost friend. Then the door opens and when he finally looks up, there stands JIM! His gob wasn't quite as totally smacked as Jim's in Pistoleros, but then Artie reappeared to help with the wrap-up, whereas Jim's appearance signaled an immediate return to action for both of them.
I may have to write a discussion between them when Jim tells him something like "Now you know how I felt" in Pistoleros.

Oh yes, excellent scenes Yes, I do love that when Jim breaks out first and then gets Artie out and I have wondered why it took Jim so long to get free Another scene I like is in TNOT Howling Light when Jim goes back to the lighthouse and Artie's finally been broken and Jim has to deal with the delicate situation of not being shot by his partner and subduing his partner without too much damage and when Artie comes around Also when they're debating about whether to save the doctor from his minions out for revenge (although as a woman I resent their idea!!! )

You know, there aren't many real "buddy" scenes in season 1, but one I like is in Casual Killer, when Jim is letting himself get beat up to show he's really a wimpy dude, and Artie comes after him, tries to stop him early, and then helps Jim up and back to their wagon.

I also like the scene in Firebrand where Artie shows up as Jacque Beaumont. He implores West to show some fortitude and throw away his gun. "There, doesn't that make you feel much better now?" The expressions on Jim's face are great throughout the exchange.

Just watched Firebrand last night and agree with Paradox on the scene when Artie shows up as Jacque Beaumont. The look on Jim's amazed face is priceless. ;D I love the interaction between Jim and Artie in Amnesiac where they attempt to pull the barrels on the wagon scale in order to substitute their weight. ;D

That scene with the barrels in Amnesiac is terrific. They work in unison with almost no verbal communication.
