Ok, I might be hard of hearing or something, but I swear that in Big Blackmail that Baron Hinterstossier calls Gruber 'Goober'!! It is when James is missing and he sends Gruber to find him (and he's with the daughter of the Armenian Ambassador). I watched it twice last night and I am almost certain Harvey Korman leaves out the R. I watched his mouth as I was listening. Anyone else want to watch and verify for me? ;D

You are a Goober (we keep you around for entertainment value ) I'll watch it later and see if I hear it.

It's just a bad German accent, the mangled r was there. I loved Grant's reaction when Artie said Jim wanted to show the girl the Big Dipper. ;D

Was that the reaction to Jim, or to where he might be? I think that is GRuber at the door behind Artemus...he hasn't left to find Jim yet.

You're the one watching his mouth to look for an r! I just gave you a suggestion on where he might have thrown that r. I would cap it for you but it lasts such a small fraction of a second that it is hard to get!

I haven't gotten to Big Blackmail yet. I am watching season 3 looking for an answer to the current quote and noticed something in Headless Woman. While looking through his archive of disguises, Artie comes to the Portuguese sailor and says 'Paolo Martinez, Portuguese fisherman, age 33'. Clearly written under the picture though is 'Juan Martinez, age 35'. Just thought I'd throw it into the ring.

I thought his name was Juan, and I wondered where I got that...must have been Kessler...then I heard him say Paolo, which I like better. He looks 45 though ;D

Did anyone ever notice this in Avaricious Actuary? Jim wasn't the only one to suffer the embarrassment of underwear terror. Believe it's Red West.

I was watching TNOT Firebrand last night and spotted something I had not noticed before. When Jim is tied to the post with the dynamite, initially his ankles are tied. After O'Reilly and his troops leave, Jim's ankles are no longer tied permitting him to douse the fuse by kicking in the water barrel. Very nice of O'Reilly to free Jim's ankles so he doesn't get blown to kingdom come. A minute later we see Jim sawing through the ropes with his shoe knife. A close up shows just his feet and pants, no chaps just pants. Not to mention that in the wide angle shots he has his left foot hooked over the rope, but in the close up it is braced against a post. Guess I never noticed the inconsistencies before because I was too busy watching the handsome man tied to the pole. I really should be grateful to O'Reilly, not only did he make it possible for our hero to escape, but to do it shirtless. ;D

Just watched the scene in Firebrand! Funny! Can't you just picture the consternation on the set?
Hey, who tied Bob's legs! He has to kick in the water keg! Untie them!
Shall we reshoot the scene?
Heck no. No one will ever notice. Ever!
;D ;D

Dieter's "mystery quote" from Amnesiac reminded me of something. In that scene where Jim is standing on the coach with his gun on the Hispanic guy, just before he speaks the quote Dieter gave, he says "hablas español?" which, I believe, means, "do you speak Spanish?" Not sure why he would ask this obviously Mexican guy that, but even stranger is that he proceeds to address the guy in English. I suspect he meant to say "hablas inglés?" (pardon my rough Spanish), whether or not that was what was in the script or not. But who was going to notice back then on one viewing?
