The death of a devoted fan is sad news indeed.
I'm afraid I missed out on the world of fanzines for WWW. Can you tell us anything about Ann Teipen's publications? What types of stories were published? Are copies still out there and available anywhere?

I googled Ann Teipin and came up with this link. Not sure if anyone ever posted it before. I know I hadn't seen it. www.spywise.net/bobconrad.htmlWonder if her fanzine ever shows up on ebay.

Terrific article. Until yesterday, I'd never even heard of Ann Teipen, she did a good job. Nice find Cal Gal.

Oh so sorry to hear this!! I have all 104 issues she did of her Fanzine! I"ve been wondering what happened to her after she quit sending me an issue every month!! You have all of them Dieter? That's so awesome! So do tell..I never knew about ‘fanzines’ till I discovered the boards. Are they well done? What types of stories of stories did she publish? I know from the little I’ve read about her that they contained news items photos, and interviews, but did they contain fan-fiction too? How would you rate the zine? The reason I asked is because if I ever come across copies, I might like to collect them if they also containe fan fiction (except I don’t care much for slash type stories.) What say you?? Thanks!!

Hard for me to comment on how well done Ann's BTTWWW fanzine was as I never have seen any other fanzine's to compare it to. That said, I always read it immediately when it showed up at home. It had updates on guests who were on the show, subscriber submitted fictional stories, subscriber letters and pictures of RM and RC from other places than the show. She had met RC on more than one occasion, interviewed him as well as Ross Martin's widow. I first heard of her after reading Sue Kesler's book, who commented on Ann's fanzine. She stopped publishing after 104 issues, which was no coincidence. Last time I saw on ebay was a couple years ago. There were about 10-15 issues missing, some copies and sold for $350.

Yeah, that's pretty much the story about Back to the Wild Wild West. Ann did a terrific job of it and was loaded with current topics regarding RC and history of the show. Every episode storyline, many photos and drawings of the stars. I believe Elsordo did many drawings for Ann in the fanzine in fact. I need to go grab my stack and I will let you know. It always made my day every time I got a new issue in the mail every month!! So sorry she passed away! I will treasure her fanzine forever!

Awesome! I know there are old fanzines out there to be had, but I just didn't know anything about them. I will keep an eye out for Ann Teipen's. Sounds like they were quality stuff and I would enjoy them. Thanks guys!!
BTW, Welcome to the board ddutti1836 and good to see you back Dieter!

Sad news indeed. She was always very sweet to me and I really hate to hear this. She did love the show and worked hard on that little fanzine. Like Dieter, I loved to get it in the mail. I know after many years of doing the fanzine she was tired of it and took the # 104 to bail out.
I know there were several other fanzines coming out when hers was. Before the internet they were common for many shows.
info about her fanzine and contact info was in the back Sue Kesler's book. I remember calling Indy Information and getting her phone number and calling her. She was a little taken aback but we became friends and although I already missed her for the past few years, I really do miss her now.

Well said, Elsordo. She will definitely be missed. She did such a great job for many years putting out her fanzine every month for so many WWW fans. I was sorry it all ended after issue 104 but it's always great to start reading them all over again. I just took them all down from my hall closet where I keep all WWW stuff to re-read them. It's been a while so will be great to start over.

Wow Dieter, you're so lucky to have those! I'd love to have a chance to read them but I doubt I ever will, it's unlikely any copies will turn up on Ebay that would be in my price range I wish I'd known such a thing as a WWW fanzine existed when it was being published, I would definitely have subscribed!
