It has been a long time since I last started a thread in this particular section of the board, but I have a great one for you today:
Over the weekend, I scored quite a few celebrity magazines from the mid-1970's. I also acquired some old TV Guides from the Chicago Tribune, and I was able to investigate and see if Wild Wild West was playing in reruns at all during that time period.
One ABC afflilate in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during 1973 aired back-to-back episodes of WWW every weeknight starting at 5:30 PM.
A year later, in early 1974, the now-Fox TV affilate in Chicago, WFLD Channel 32, aired Wild Wild West six days a week at 6:00 PM Central Time. In the February 3-9, 1974 issue, that features Mitzi Gaynor in a gorgeous Bob Mackie gown promoting her CBS special "Mitzi....A Tribute to the American Housewife" airing Monday evening of that particular week, The powers that be at the Chicago Tribune were gracious enough to provide episode descriptions for the reruns airing Monday through Friday. So if you would like to take a nostalgic trip with me 39 years ago to early February, here was what WWW episodes were airing in Chicagoland that particular week:
Monday, February 4--The Night of the Simian Terror
"West and Gordon face a killer beast and a mystery guarded by a senator and his three sons."
Tuesday, February 5--The Night of the Death-Maker
"A would-be dictator's attempt to assasinate President Grant is foiled by agents Gordon and West."
Wednesday, February 6--The Night of the Big Blackmail
"A double-dealing foreign diplomat attempts to implicate the United States in an international conspiracy. Harvey Korman guests."
Thursday, February 7--The Night of the Doomsday Formula
"Agents West and Gordon are sent to prevent an ex-army general's attempt to obtain a secret formula for an explosive."
Friday, February 8--The Night of the Juggernaut
"A man uses a steam-driven juggernaut to drive off homesteaders so he can appropriate their oil-rich land. Floyd Patterson guests."
