I ran it through an online translator and it translated almost the same as you did, Zach, but they reversed the last two words as "no but." Maybe Aunt Maud can explain if it's actually some kind of French idiom because otherwise it doesn't make sense.  Cute cartoon, though. |

Yeah--that's pretty cool! I wonder if that's from years ago or something recent. I couldn't tell if that was a year next to the name in the final box.

The french and belgians love the American West "as -never-was". No, really they have written stories about it for ever. One of my favourite comic book writers Goscinny (one half of the Asterix duo) paired up with Morris to produce the Lucky Luke books which are very funny. These are still being produced and slowly translated into english. I am hanging out for number 75 to be translated (my french is rusty) which is "L'Homme de Washington (The man from Washington)" in which we meet "James East" and "Artémius Gin". Maybe copyright made them change the names but, hey, we'll just assume they are incognito.
