Site Revamp

I want to do some new things with the site. I am going to make some new pictures, banners, headers and footers.

If you have a favorite scene or pic from the show, let me know and I may include it in the new look.

We have the ability to keep this version of the forum and make a new one. We actually can make several. I might in the future want to make a Black and White version of the board. So it's ok to mention your favorite black and white episodes and pics as well.

If you have a photo, feel free to post it. Please though make sure you post what episode it's from (if it is from an episode and not publicity shot) so if I want, I can get my own version of it. I have a pretty good image capture. I would want the best possible picture to use.

All of this will lead up to the new look that I may want to move to a real Web Domain. The name of the forum is not conducive to it being found with a Wild Wild West search. I want to change that.
the problem is It cost $ and has to be renewed every year.

All of us would benefit from being on the web with a stronger presence. Namely the new members we could attract and hence new friends to be made and maybe new perspectives / contributions to our Show.

The cost is minimal, but in this economy still a problem. I have several solutions to this....the 1st being donations. the ole if every member that can donates one dollar we may be able to do it. A dollar a year. Not to bad. What do you think. With enough donations we could buy our domain name and a space on a server. Move the board and every ones fan fiction and posts to it. Something to think about and to discuss. IF this fails we can try something else. It's not mandatory for you to donate. I was thinking if you do we can in return let you change your position in the group ex....cadet, desk jokey and such. IF you want to be a secret agent or colonel or whatever within reason we could make it happen. We could call you a super member or something even more impressive. That for your dollar or five if you are so inclined.

So, give me your picture ideas....and give me your thoughts on the move.

Pet has looked into this in the past and money has always been the problem. I am here to volunteer the work....is there anyway
you can help out? let us know.

Well , imo a black and white 'theme' or setting would look great, classic and very much in keeping with 'our favourite programme'.

other than that, I'm sure we could all mention our favorite eps easily, and then you could put the names in a jar and pull a few out... LOL

lessee from where I sit... Murderous Springs, Howling Light, Deadly Bed [yes, really], and then McCoy and Raven, Valentine, also Bleak Island, Pistoleros, The Plague [yes, really] Diva, Firebrand, Fire and Brimstone, [yes, I mean it] Man Eating House, Bars of Hell, Big Blast, and Wrath of Khan... nope, nope, wrong series... I meant ...Lord of Limbo of course LOL

one thing that occurs to me is that maybe a sub forum or something like that could be set for non-episode pictures... promo shots and head shots and that sort of thing? as if they were ... which in some cases they definitely are, portraits.

the problem with my little collection is some of the pics have 'stamps' from the original seller all the way across what would otherwise be great pictures OR they're old and fuzzy instead of being sharp. But I would be glad to send in any pics that could help, of course.

I'll be happy to contribute to get rid of the ads--which slow the forum down for me quite often! Just tell us how to get the $$ to you.

As for pictures, my favorites are all in the Frivolous thread!

Do you want to know specific scenes, or should we post pix here to show you the ones we like best? Or what? I can provide jpegs for the screen caps if you want them, and I'm sure others can too.

I am not ready to take the $ yet. Lets get the new site looking great and then when we get ready to move it, I will let you know how to get us the donations.

I want you to post your absolute favorite picture or pictures of Jim and Artie either solo or together.
I will be making around 16 new pictures that will include some text and some different types of backgrounds.

One of my created pictures could include several of the ones you offer.

In the 2 years since I made the current one I have learned some tricks and tips in photoshop so hopefully I will be able to make a better looking overall site. we will see.

Thanks for any pictures... post them here. Since I only will be making the said 16 or so complete pictures with what you supply try to narrow it down to your all time favorite. Also try and get me some pics of the villains and pretty ladies too.
Cal Gal I know you have posted a ton of pictures.... if you can find in your collection a few of the mentioned that would help a lot. Getting the pictures is a time consuming effort and I would appreciate the help.
To those who don't have the ability to capture screen shots. Please tell me here your favorite and what episode it is in and that would speed up my finding them. I want every ones input.

Also folks, if you can pinpoint a specific picture in the Frivolous thread, I'll be happy to either post it here for you, or send you the jpeg to do it yourself (especially if you don't currently have the screen cap making ability yourself!).

This site is responsible for my renewed (and even greater) admiration for Ross Martin. Last year, I only had the WWW DVDs and a fond memory of a childhood favorite. Since then, I've discovered so much more of his work that I HAD to have. If I still had the money I've spent in the past year in Ross's name, I could fund this site for a few years!

Then there was the opportunity to be a part of new WWW history when I took the leap of faith and the long trip to Ticonderoga to be a small part of "Golden Spikes". Priceless!!

Last but by no means least, was becomming a part of this wonderful community. All I can say is...

First of all, I'd be glad to contribute some $ when that gets set up, let me know.

Also it would be almost impossible for me to decide on my absolute favorite pics from the show, however, I am glad to share some of my current and long term most liked... Some of them are definitely from CG's 'frivolous' thread, so thank you very much, ma'am. Some are from the Frame Cap Library, which also shows pics from Muncle and other such series, and a couple are obvious promo shots, but not ones I've seen anywhere except a few years ago on ebay, or I would have better copies.

First is my favorite 'pretty lady' from the series... wish we'd seen more of her and a little less of her onscreen brother LOL Princess Gina Carlotta [the genuine article] as portrayed by Lesley Brander.

There's a TERRIFIC link I visit often, chock full of Artie disguises. And the good thing is that person identifies the episode. It'll give you great ideas for screen caps of your own.

Count me in! I'd be more than happy to pay a yearly fee to keep the board going, after all it's responsible for renewing my love of WWW and Ross Martin. And I've made good friends here who share my feelings so yes, it's a wonderful idea!! ;D

this pic is from a series of promo shots, I'm pretty sure, judging by the costumes, I'd guess its first season or second. I've never seen this in large format. hope it can be useful. The expressions on the guys' faces are just terrific, imo

okay this is another promo and I think from that same set, but its really poor quality and I apologize for that. Still the guys are plainly in character here and I love Jim having his hand on Artie's shoulder... it just speaks volumes to their friendship and the chemistry of Robert and Ross, imo

Elsordo, for other characters and villains, may I suggest you peruse the "Others" and "Femme Fatales" threads, which are probably deep into the pages by now. Maybe I'll find them and bump them up. You'll find quite a few pix of the supporting casts!

I have not yet done season 4 but this might be a reason to get into that, huh?

just a quick note of apology, the pics that are not showing up in my last post on this thread are of Artie giving Jim back his pistol - up in the church tower... and looking like he wants to scold his partner [Fugitives]

but the second I think is from the tag for Fugitives, with Artie sitting calmly [and looking g-gorgeous] reading a tiny little book that it turns out is not great literature at all, but something much more naughty... something like a list of 'saloon girls'?
