OK this thread popped into my widdle head and well after talking it over with a fellow agent, our horses, a couple of dogs, 4 cats and a wino we decided it was good Idea...
The premise of this Wild Wild West thread is to tell what we love about the show as a whole it can be anything please keep it on topic.
I'll go first....
I love the way Artie's inventions never seem to 'get him' as Jim feared

That must have been some conversation hehehehe
I like the wild wild west because it's just sheer fun not meant to be educational or filled with morals just something fun to watch.

I love the Wild Wild West because of the wonderful camaraderie between Artie and Jim and the adventures they get into--and survive.

I got to say, I think it was the horses, stunts and fights that got me watching The Wild Wild West when I was a kid (and I still love that), but the inventiveness and sheer attractiveness of our boys keeps me hooked!

It's the villains! Okay, a few other things too. But let's give the baddies some credit.

I have three basic reasons, although they are all a matter of taste and not really much to do with 'reason'... typically me.. I love The Wild, Wild West because of Robert Conrad as James West I love the Wild, Wild West because of Ross Martin as Artemus Gordon and I love the Wild, Wild West because of Michael Dunn as 'the good doctor' Miguelito Loveless nuff said? Well enuf for now, anyhow

When I first stumbled across WWW at 6am one Monday morning waiting for my dad to take me back to my freshman dorm, I paused on a very colorful show. A western?! This is gonna stink! (remember, 18 year old Jersey Girl) watched a few more seconds of action... still didn't turn the channel... dad walks in "that used to be on when I was a kid" Instant coolness! Okay, in no particular order - Ross Martin as Artemus Gordon, brilliant character with a brilliant smile
- 60s tv show
- Action!
- Good guys vs bad guys
- Just gotta know what happens next!
But most important as Calgal said, it's the camaraderie between the guys. I loooove "Buddy" shows

lol, it just hit me, I remembered a poem I wrote in Creative Writing Poetry in response to Thirteen Ways of Looking At My Lover. I forget who wrote the poem unfortunately, I do not even recall if it was in one of my poetry books or if it was a photocopy the class was given. Since I did not have a lover or boyfriend of any sorts, I did mine on Artie and boy did that poem turn my innocent face bright red! So I loved WWW enough that my first prose piece for Creative Writing was a WWW fanfic, and another assignment in Creative Writing was WWW again and the above mentioned poem OH!!! And the latest demonstration of my love for WWW (warning long story ) ;D Yesterday I was sitting at my automated book scanner at work and it was a pretty easy book so I was resting my cheek in my left hand (my left elbow propped on the edge of the machine lip) and I was gently and lightly dragging my fingers across the page as it turned to make sure the page was flat. My male coworker (J.) must have turned around and seen the difference between my style and my female coworker's (B.) style (she being on the other automated scanner and still pretty new to the scanner) B. was jerking her hand back to make sure her hand wasn't covering the page when the photo was being taken. J. goes, "B. you've got to caress the book, look at Rachel" Immediately I jerked up from my relaxed position "what???" J. to B. "The book and scanner are not your enemy" My response straight from TNOT Samurai, "Your (scanner and {book}) is not your enemy, it is your loved one! You must caress it like, like so!" ;D At that point our other male coworker (M.) stops mid-stride in the doorway and responds "I'll just leave you guys here" and starts closing the door

I love TWWW for reminding me that I can feel the same rush of enthusiasm for the show as I did in my youth - and to have an even greater appreciation from my now adult (way too adult) perspective.

I love the Wild Wild West because it is the perfect entertainment recipe for me.
*Take one 1800's post civil war era, add a generous amount of the wild untamed west.
*Add a few ocean front cities.
*Mix liberally with horses, Indians, ruffians, regular citizens, refined socialites, government folks and law enforcement officers.
*Add at least a dozen or more diabolical madmen (or women).
*Don't forget to add one awesome, live-aboard, steam train.
*Add science fiction and gadgets galore.
*Carefully fold in two extraordinary Secret Service Agents, incredibly handsome, incredibly talented and the best of friends. Fall in love with one to your taste (optional).
*Top with with endless action and suspense.
*Garnish with one profoundly power hungry, mastermind, enigmatic genius dwarf.
Sit back and escape into The Wild Wild West for 1 hour.
Enjoy. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hmm, what can I add that hasn't already been said?
Well, I know when we were kids watching it, my brother and I enjoyed the game of Who Can Spot Artie in Disguise First?
Another thing I love is spotting anachronistic references (such as several of Dr Loveless's before-their-time inventions: television, airplane, etc).

My kids are good for "That's Arte, isn't it?" ;D I first loved The Wild Wild West for the music, and Artemus (AKA The other guy) when I was very little. When I was 12 I then loved it for Artemus Gordon and his best friend, and the train...how cool to live in that little confined awesomely outfitted space! Now I love it for Artemus Gordon (and his best friend and their train) and the friends that have come together because of it all

DT touched on this, but I could have mentioned the fights and stunts. The fact that RC did his own stunts made it very special.
I've belonged to boards for two TV shows, and gained a lot of friends from both. It's definitely one of the perks!
