I'm having a quiet day, but there's a lot of stuff going on out there. Barbecues, plain old picnics, beach parties. I heard some fireworks last night and there will be more tonight, I'm sure.

Happy Fireworks Day!! That's what my son and I always call it because we are serious firework freaks and love to see things go BOOM!! We always bought from the Fireworks stands not far from us to get the "safe and sane" Red Devil and Freedom fireworks, etc. and do our own celebration in the backyard. Glad to say never had any accidents with them. Just alot of fun! Have a Happy 4th!!

We have had a busy weekend here, with a graduation party followed by fireworks by Zambelli's with friends from church, then ice cream after that...and that was Saturday! My niece turned ten on the 4th so we celebrated with her at my parents. Swimming, burgers, macaroni salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and a cake with homemade icing. Yummy day!

You people are actually making me a little homesick Still over here in the UK with Aunt Maud (not a bad thing!) I got paid double time to work, so I scanned all day. I couldn't find a Burger King or McDonalds and all the burger places for some reason put M. Jack cheese on their burgers so I went to Yo! Sushi instead

Hope everyone had fun yesterday! We didn't do too much. Went to see the movie "Larry Crowne" which was totally charming. The neighborhood was nuts with fireworks last night. At least we've had lots of rain lately so the woods survived them . Happy day after the celebration!

Not much in the way of fireworks this year in our severe-drought area. Which I'm actually glad of, since Artemus the cat doesn't like loud noises.

My neighborhood was much noisier than has been the case in the past couple of years. Kept me from getting my beauty sleep--and boy, do I need it! Cats didn't like it too much, but they went to sleep faster than I did!

fireworks are illegal in NJ excepting professional displays and the fire department on hand... otherwise if you set one off in your backyard, expect the police to come knocking at your door!!

Here fireworks are illegal unless its the city's display too. There were some jerks around here tossing M80s into the dumpster but other than that it was pretty uneventful. Duke woke up and looked around when the noises started down town (I live about 2.5 miles from downtown the river carries the sound) looked around and went back to sleep lol.
