I'm a newbie in this forum and I started watching Wild Wild West (again) just a couple of months ago, and I need help on finding one specific episode in which there's a 'shooting piano' that starts to play automatically and after some time, a gun is revealled from inside the piano and start to fire at James (or something like that, I don't remember it very well, I've seen it a loong time ago). What is the name of this episode?
Thanks! Roger.

Hi Roger. Welcome. Glad you are reacquainting yourself with one of the best TV shows ever! Offhand I cannot think of such a piano. The only one that comes to mind is in TNOT Vicious Valentine (season 2) where a wealthy man is assassinated with an arrow rigged inside the piano he is playing. I'm blanking out on any other possibilities. Maybe someone else can help.

I vaguely recall another scene but I can't remember if it was a gun or not so I'll keep quiet till I can remember. Or I'll start scrolling through the DVD's...oh the horror ;D

Hi Roger! Welcome!
This has been bugging me all day. I can 'see' the scene. West is trapped in a room when the doors lock. He hits the floor and the thing starts shooting. For some reason I think it is a caliope...? I've been searching too and haven't found it yet...

Oh, is it Poisonous Posey? He gets locked into the funeral parlor and has to hit the floor when something starts shooting. The funeral parlor's organ? This is while Miss Posey is making her escape.

Yes! That's the scene I've been remembering. It's some kind of steam organ I believe. What say you Roger? Is this the scene you're thinking of - Season 2, Poisonous Posey?

Thanks for your replies!! I have only 'fragments' of the scene in my head and I can't remember exaclty what happens. I'm not sure about Poisonous Posey, but it's not Vicious Valentine for sure. I'll try to pull some more info from my lazy memory: Forget about the 'shooting piano' part. I'll try to describe two possibilities here so you can try to match the closer episode: Here we go: 1) The scene is shot at night, inside a house or an office of some sort, facing the street, and there's a piano inside of it. And James is walking on the street and suddenly, someone starts to shoot at him from inside this office. Then, after dodging the bullets, he enters the office and find this piano and I don't remember if there's something inside the piano, such as money or a clue and James find it. And it's not an organ or a big piano with tail, it's a small piano type. 2) The scene is shot at night, inside a house or an office of some sort, facing the street, and there's a piano inside of it. James is inside looking for some clues and all of a sudden, someone starts shooting at him and he hides behind the piano until the shooting is over. Then he looks at the damaged piano and find something into or near it: money or a glove, I don't know. That's all I've got Hope it help otherwise I'll have to watch the entire series again

Not ringing any bells with me, though I have to admit there's a couple of season 4 episodes that I don't watch all that often. Gosh, Roger, we wouldn't want to subject you to the torture of having to watch the ENTIRE series again! ;D

The only one I can think of is TNOT of the Death Maker. It's in the teaser, and it's outside. Dick Cangey is the heavy pushing the small organ in which a gatling gun is hidden, then he starts shooting at President Grant and Jim tries to stop him.

I keep trying to think of the episodes where a piano or organ was featured rather prominently.
TNOT Cutthroats comes to mind, but all Artie did was play it.
In TNOT Colonel's Ghost, the "ghost" played an organ, but it was not the organ that was deadly.
Death Masks, there were pianos in the stage station as well as the saloon, and Jim touched the keys on each one.
That's all that's coming to mind, along with the ones already mentioned.

The episode that comes to my mind is Fire & Brimstone. Jim and Artie duck into a delapidated shed. A bullet hits the player piano and it starts playing. But the piano is definitely not shooting anything.

Thanks Double Take and all people who helped me trying to figure out the scene! Fire and Brimstone has the scene I was looking for. The 'clue' I referred to is that opening on the floor near the piano when it starts playing automatically after being hit by a bullet. Sorry about the confusing descriptions, I've made a 'mix' of episodes in my head after so many years without watching it

Glad I could help. Watching the show after so many years I found things that had stuck with me (like Aztec treasure) that I had no idea came from WWW.

I had a long time memory of an episode of Wagon Train that I finally got to see again a year or so ago. Some of my memories were on target, but a lot were way off. Memories can be tricky things!
