Very nicely written by someone who actually seems to have seen the series and appreciates it in context. Except for the part about Ross's name, of course. Strange error.
Funny, never occurred to me that having Dr. Loveless be a "small person" would be considered un-PC, even now. Seems to me he was being treated equally, along with other normal-sized bad guys and gals.
Campy? Don't show that review to wildfan! ;D

A good review indeed! I agree with Apple and CalGal. What makes me a little uncomfortable with it is not so much the emphasis on political correctness - I have personal views on the subject of PC that would be deemed ...Hum, lets see... 'Controversial' is probably the word I am looking for here! But more the fact the show is presented as having been forgotten somehow... Now, I cannot have any opinion about what happens so far away, in terms of what's is available to watch on TV, but in France "Les Mysteres de L'Ouest' went on air every day of every Summer for YEARS if not decades... Any French school kid from the early seventies onward would have seen at least a few dozens episodes. RM and RC are famous and much loved over here, in France, by viewers across a wide age range! 'Les Tetes Brulees' (Black Sheep Squadron) and Colorado (Centennial) were also very successful and are widely available on dvds... So I am a bit taken aback by that! (or just showing my age? ) NO, I won't have it! My favorite show cannot be such an obscure, backward, prehistorical, camp...(whatever that means) etc... Or can it? Of course, there is a small bias of mine... I am a total fan and literally moved in the train as a kid, and never had the urge to move out ... Hum! A personal bias perhaps... but not by any means unique, I have gathered, my friends! ;D LOL

The comment about it being "forgotten" bothered me too. After all, the DVDs sold rather successfully as I understand, and look how many of us gather to discuss it, not to mention the number of items constantly on ebay. No, not forgotten!

I got that review in my email too. I thought it was pretty good, it sounds like the author is younger and might not know there is a large fan base out there.
