There's a pic in Sue's book on page 147 (the hardcover one, not the ebook) next to Amnesiac's synopsis, showing Artie as the magician carrying an unconscious Cloris. Of course that scene never takes place. Is it just a publicity shot? Hmm.... I'd put up the shot, but I forgot how

I love that picture too. It's also in a book I have titled "The Best of Science Fiction TV" by John Javna published 1987. At that time WWW came in at #8 in the top 25 Sci Fi shows of all time. Star Trek of course held the #1 spot.
If a survey was taken today I wonder if WWW would even make it on the list. Westerns have fallen so out of style in the visual entertainment world and computer technology has enabled the creation of the most fantastic visuals you can imagine. But I do think that Star Trek with all it's spin-offs might still hold the #1 spot.

Nice photo. Has to be a PR shot. Artie had not even met Cloris when he was wearing his magician's rig. Maybe they were just fooling around on the set!

I'd put up the shot, but I forgot how I think if this is an actual out-take, it must be from that also missing part of the 'aired episode, AFTER Artie as the magician goes into the bad guy's hideout and looks around and then just... stands there looking very un-Artielike-confused. I think at least one scene after that must have hit the cutting room floor. And too danged bad!

But Artie hadn't met Cloris at that time.
I sure wish a copy of the Amnesiac script would show up and perhaps explain what was going on in that bathhouse scene. What was the point?

You don't think the point was to see the muscle-bound guard? I sure didn't mind seeing him. Just wish he had a larger, less dim-witted role.

Now that's a thought. He had a few of them there muscles, didn't he?
It's almost like they had a version of the script which went in a slightly different direction, then it was rewritten and they didn't bother to refilm or remove that scene. You would have thought that Crotty's HQ would have been somehow connected to the bathhouse rather than in the old theater.
Viewers in the 60s, watching it only once, or at the most twice in summer reruns, would likely have not noticed.
