Oh do not get me started on the sites I look at! I tend to get lost when I do research and I forget what I originally was doing. I do have a few sites I check first I'll have to copy them here. I also love my descriptionary but then I can get lost reading that too ;D

Someone on the other site had posted a link for the Lester Dent Method of Plotting. That site was terminated, but here is another link to Lesters Method. I thought it was a very helpful outline! www.paper-dragon.com/1939/dent.html

Speaking of fanfiction, I've been reading and in some cases re-reading the fics here with great enjoyment, and I wanted to know two things, please: Approximately how long are the fics[ story files] you talented folks have been posting here? And what kind of name do you think I should ask Pet to give my part of the fic board? I was thinking of posting Blind Beggar and the bio of Jim West. They're pretty much my shortest finished projects. Please let me know what all y'all think. I'd 'preciate it, much.

I think the longest one I've posted thus far has been about 60 Word pages. Mine average 45-60 pages I think.

As for the length I received an email a little bit ago from the server owners adn they do not recommend anything longer than 125 pages in Word at no smaller than 11pt. When they do site back ups anything longer than that will be deleted to create free space. If your stuff can fall within those guidelines then post it on the fan fic forum and I'll create a board for you

thanks again, Pet. that info will help much, especially me who am ... ummm...errr... story length challenged. I went ahead and posted my bio of Artie today, with of course a few tweaks here and there. Can't seem to help it when I go back to look at a piece of writing. And I realize it takes some noive 8-)for one of Jim's Jewels to put up her version of Artie's bio, but I hope you enjoy it. That being said, I also have a plot-bunny for a W3 ficlet, that will be pure fantasy and thus should fit in well with the series ... well about half of the eps, anyway . If you'd like to take part in it, or help it get going or just know more, email me pls, off-forum, The working title MIGHT just give you a hint what I'm up to this time: It's ''The Night of the Man's Best Friends" ;D

Dictionary of Practical Surgery - 1886 After rereading a fanfiction I got curious about the gunshot wounds. I found this book published in 1886 (I think that's the date). ***Don't read it while your eating*** I found the section on gunshot wounds fascinating and informative. It is written in layman's terms so is pretty easy to understand. Just a few terms I needed to look up. It talks quite a lot about the American War (Civil War I assume) and the Crimean War. books.google.com/books?id=rvQPAAAAYAAJ

if anyone has access to a library that is subscribing to the Sabin Bibliography, that is the project I am working on now and it is all books printed in or about America from the discovery of the country to post Reconstruction era (I got to scan books from 1524!!) and I will say the Sabin Bibliography is a goldmine for research!

The doctor told how he had to amputate limbs and treat gunshot wounds and how they used different drugs that the soldiers became dependant on. Its a pretty good one too if you can find it.

I was saying to my best friend that some scientist needs to tait the world's water supply with a "happy drug" because there are just so many mean and nasty people out there. What if this happened in a WWW fic? If a scientist created some sort of happy drug? What morals would be involved? What punishment if any would the scientist go through?
just a thought...
