So, in Voltaire's first two episodes ... was he really unable to speak? He certainly acted like he couldn't, with all the grunts and hand gestures. Dr. Loveless could have performed some kind of operation on him that healed whatever might have ailed him. On the other hand, maybe he really just plain didn't like to talk at first? Or maybe he didn't know how to talk and later learned? Thoughts? Theories? Story explanations?

I always wondered that about Voltaire too, why he could finally talk in Whirring Death after being mute in the first 2 episodes. Al I know is I was sorry he didn't stay teamed up with Loveless for the next 7 episodes too.

Oh yes, Voltaire was fun! He should have stayed. I started wondering if Kitten in Murderous Spring was brought in to be a sort of female counterpart to Voltaire, since she was also quite strong.
