Everyone, I will be returning to this forum on Saturday afternoon--I may not post, but I will be checking it--but I do want to leave you with something to work on.
Since we just finished discussing the season 1 episodes, perhaps you can help me pinpoint a character who was only on for one scene in one of Jim's undercover adventures, wherein he poses as a wanted man. He talks to a spectacled, well=dressed, top hat wearing young man who looks a little bit like Silas Grigsby in "the Night of the Bubbling Death" and chats a little with Jim as he helps put up some wanted posters. I don't quite have the name but I know the character I am looking for, because he reminded me a little bit of myself.
That being taken care of, have a wonderful Friday, and I will check back here agaim on Saturday at 4:00 my time. Until then, take care, and may God richly bless all of you.

Oh, that would be Richard who needs a smaller hammer or a new thumb. I always have trouble remembering if it is Fatal Trap or Freebooters.

Yes, Richard Henry. I used him as a character in the full version of TNOT Unexpected Visit. One of my favorite one-off characters from the show.

Hahaa Oh I thought that would have been the least-remembered character of the entire series. Wow! Basically another Bosley but didn't know he was such a hero in some eyes. Whoa!! ;D

Oh, I wouldn't call him a hero. But he is fun, in a Bosley sort of way.

Oh I liked Richard too! It was such a small part but he did a good job with it and Jim West obviously liked him as well. It was kind of a hero worship/uncle/nephew moment.

Yay, it's young Richard!
After a bit of thought... I guess what I like about young Mr Henry is that, even though it was such a small, almost throw-away role, the writers made him a bit three-dimensional.

Did you ever notice that he got special mention in the credits?

Bless him he has such a sweet face :3 He looks uncannily like a young Jim Dale (an excellent theatrical actor). Or at least I think so. Of course, Jim doesn't look like that anymore either.

Don't know if he ever did much other rolls on TV??? Barely know of him even on here because I rarely watch Freebooters. It's kinda one of those like Fatal Trap for me---- least watched episodes of Season 1.

According to IMDB, he appeared in a number of TV shows, including Wild Bill Hickok, Andy Griffith, Gidget, Get Smart, That Girl, Partridge Family, Carol Burnett, Chico and the Man, and the Carol Burnett show. He also appeared on the Smothers Brothers show as part of a trio called Jim, Jake and Joan, where the Joan is "Joan Rivers." Whether it's THE Joan Rivers, I don't know.

Richard Henry??!! I wonder if he was related to Patrick in some way.
He must have worked at the Secret Service Headquarters in DC, because of the way he talks to Jim in this particular scene. He is kind of like a fellow worker and a huge admirer of Jim and his work.
In many ways, his character is like a combination of an office worker and a fan all wrapped up into one totally unique, God-made creation, and that's why I enjoy his cameo appearance in "Freebooters" so much.
It is amazing how extremely similar he looks like myself. Even his glasses are almost exactly like mine!!

Let's see - considering that young Richard was fictional, probably he's wasn't related to Patrick.
He does come across as a fan boy, doesn't he, bless his heart!

I wonder if Richard inspired the creation of Bosley Cranston.

BTW, the Patrick Henry line in my Tuesday post was meant to be a joke. A couple of friends of mine have very quirky senses of humor.
