Yeowwww!!!!!! What a cutie! Where did you find that, sidekick? ;D I capped it from Hard Knox. RC said he doesn't have any of these photos, but he must have still had some in the '80's for them to use it in the movie.

Great slideshow of Howling Light (one of my favorite episodes), nwheaton. I haven't had time to check out Centennial yet.

OK. I just finished caps on Centennial Part 2. I think I need to redo Part 1 because I started out with 1505 for part 2, and I only had 834 for part 1. Right now I've got it cut down to 961 caps. Still have to do some more revising. I'll post the slideshow link when it's done.
Well, I'm down to 317.

Thanks, nwheaton, great pics again. And they've got me wondering,again... two things:
1) Does anyone know why there was no tag at all for Vipers?
2) Does anyone know if RC's hand was actually injured during the production of Vipers, or was that ... redness just makeup for an injury Jim was supposed to suffer during that gunfight?
Inquiring minds want to know, LOL

Inquiring minds want to know, LOL I was thinking the same thing about RC's hand. That doesn't look like fake blood. I've got to look up what the next ep in shooting order was. I remember seeing his hand with a sore on it in a subsequent episode. I honestly don't think it was make up.

I've always wondered if the length of the fight didn't account to the lack of a tag. Maybe the dictor/editor/RC thought the fight was so great they had to leave in every punch... and perhaps it was worth it to see Jim in a torn shirt and all sweaty... Be nice to see the script for Vipers but I haven't seen one offered anywhere. As for the "blood," I'm pretty sure it's fake blood--though it's unusual to even SEE blood after an injury in this show. Maybe it's to convince us that he WAS hit because otherwise there's no real indication.

I just finished screen caps of Assassin. As soon as I go through them I'll be posting the link. I'll also be doing caps of RM's Conquest of Space.

OK guys. Vipers has bugged me since the first time I watched it. I just looked at the shooting order following Vipers and Death Masks was next. This is definitely not confirmed. Someone would have to ask RC if he remembers the episode, but I did caps of Death Masks and here is a pic of his right hand. If you look where I have the circle you'll see what looks like a cut in the process of healing. Also, if you look at the caps of that scene from Vipers, you'll see that the "blood" starts out with just a little then there's more as the scene progresses. I honestly don't think it's fake. Anyhow, here's the pic from Death Mask. Once I find a good cap of Undead, Simian Terror and Death Maker I'll post it.

Your thesis intrigued me so I had to do some research too. I just cannot believe that, even in that prehistoric age as far as medical matters were concerned (pre-AIDS), that they would have allowed their star out there with a severely bleeding hand. If you look at these pix from Vipers, it does not really look as though it's bleeding from a cut at the bottom of his hand, but rather possibly from under his coat sleeve. There's a quick shift in scenes from the time he falls to when he rolls over and we see the blood, time enough for a capsule of fake gore to be broken over his hand. Then this scene, which occurred before the final scene, when Jim is knocked to the ground as the wagon explodes, you can almost see that same scar. I'm not 100% positive--it's not a good closeup. But even if it is, that doesn't mean a whole lot because that scene could have been filmed AFTER the final scene. The only way to answer the question with certainty would be to talk to someone who was there and who remembers.

You made some good points CG, but if it were from a blood capsule there would be some on his white sleeve poking out from his jacket. As far as them letting RC continue to shoot after an injury, it's happened before. He's the consummate professional and wouldn't stop until the scene was finished. I was reading excerpts from Cangey's book and during the filming of the pant rip scene from TNOT Underground Terror, RC was hit on the head with a real, not break-away, chair. According to Cangey, he must have save the producers a bundle by not stopping and having to do a re-shoot. Another case in point: TNOT Cossacks, the final fight scene. He's supposed to go through the window and he was a little to far to one side and whacked his knee on the window frame. You can tell by the look on his face he was in pain, but he kept going until the scene was finished.

Also, in the teaser to Amnesiac, when RC falls off the stage, he was supposed to bounce off the back of the horse to break his fall. But he fell almost straight to the ground.
I know he was and still is a tough guy. I just don't think that looks like real blood, and not from the cut on the bottom of his hand. I would have thought real blood wound not have had time to smear like that.
And we know the PTB were big on not refilming scenes, such as in Underwear Tearer... I mean Underground Terror and Pistoleros!
I may study the scene again. Such a chore, I know. (I love the previous scene where he's peeking over the water trough, eyes darting hither and yon.)
You may have to put in a call to RC and ask. Or at least send him an email. I never get around to listening to the show for one reason or another.

Don't you just hate it when things bug you. I may have to ask next time I call in. I never noticed him getting hit by the real chair in the pant rip scene until I read the excerpt from Cangey's book. Laveroni was supposed to pick up the break-away chair and grabbed the wrong chair. I have got to get his book. I found the website for it if you want me to post it.

Yeah, I found a website that's got them and was reading excerpts from it. I like the behind the scenes stuff. He sounds like he's got a great sense of humor. Some of the parts I was reading was very funny.
