Eeewwww! Scream! BIG HAIRY spiders! They are the only creatures on the planet that completely creep me out. I met a wild one only once, while hiking in the Superstitions. First I saw him up close, then I saw him from way up on the big rock I climbed on. Chubby! Be a dear and dine on those things please....

Wow, Calgal that must have been fun!!! Trying to round up the tarantulas, they can be fast... ;D I didn't have anything to do with them. I just went about my business of picking up all the books that had fallen on the floor in the offices. I don't know how the critters got in, but I suspect someone just opened the building doors and herded them out.

Can't help wondering if herding tarantulas is anything like herding cats...

Ah Paradox....look on your shoulder..... EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! Paradox grabs Ace's Ninja mask, captures big fat juicy hairy spider with it, tosses it on ground. STOMP, Crackle, SQUISH!! "Ahhh, that's better. Thanks Ace! Oh BTW I said I was creeped out, not paralyzed."

When I was a little kid, according to my mom, whenever I saw a spider, the whole neighborhood knew - that's how loud I would shriek!

Ace. sorry you don't get trantulas or hummingbirds anymore but lizards are awesome too:D I think cats would be as hard to herd as trantulas cause they can both be sneaky:D but I never had to herd any of them yet:D hehehe

Paradox looks up at approaching dark mass. “GASP!” She quickly retires to her own lair and heads directly to the closet. She quickly pulls out her most dangerous secret weapon… [shadow=red,left,300] RED COWBOY BOOTS! [/shadow] Sitting down to pull them on, she happily sings one of her favorite ditties. “These boots were made for Stompin’. That’s just what they’ll doooo…. And they’re gonna turn yer little furry friends into a pool of Spider GOO!"Heading out to do the job, on the way she grabs the saddle soap for clean-up afterwards ;D ;D ;D

Yes...well...they must be magic boots. After all, they were made in the heart of Texas! I've had them nearly 30 years and they still look fantastic. The FORCE is with them!!! ;D ;D ;D

My niece spotted this coyote pup on her deck at her home in Los Angeles this morning. He apparently came for water from the fountain there. Big-eared and cute. Too bad they are vermin. But they sure learn to be bold at an early age!

I would want one that close to my house, but he sure is cute. It is amazing how readily some animals adapt while others become extinct.

She lives in the Hollywood Hills and has lots of critters--including skunks--that ramble around her house and on the deck!

How do you get anything done with such cute kittens around? I firmly believe that puppies and kittens are the biggest (and best) time wasters. Watching and playing with them is so much more fun than doing necessary stuff (like housework).

I'm really enjoying all the pictures folks. The coyote babe is darling although I wouldn't want him in my yard when he's grown. The kitties are indeed precious.

The local paper has a weekly feature where they highlight animals currently available from the county shelter and the SPCA. Last week this is the picture they ran for the shelter. I could easily become a cat hoarder. Will power! Will power!

Oh my, what a lovely bunch of gingers! Good thing they live so far from Texas, or my kids would be begging me to adopt them NOW.

According to the story accompanying, one of them is a female named Helga. My Brandy is a ginger female (with no white on her), and that's rather unusual. Totally ginger cats are usually male. Can't tell if any of these have white patches.

Yes, we have a half-grown ginger named Dexter that we're still trying to figure out. But then Dexter's mama was Hobbes, and we weren't sure about her for a long time either.

Adorable, Apple. Do you still have the other cat, and if so, are they getting along? I do still have Darla, and she hates the little guy so far. She hisses at him. He lay down in submission to her, but she didn't care too much. It is getting better, though...I think! Dora, the dog, is terrified of him, and he hisses at her. Goofy dog I like the stripe on his nose too, and he has a white patch on the tip of his ear. His twin sister had a white patch on the tip of her tail instead.

Darla is showing him who's boss! She'll likely warm up to him once he learns his manners around her. They always have to establish a pecking order.

He is trying to be very mannerly...he knows she's the boss. She is just being mean...I think once she knows he's staying all will get better.

Mannerly! That won't last. One of these days he will see Darla's tail twitching and pounce on it!
He sure is a cute kitten, Apple. Congratulations to your growing family.
