This is one of my "outdoor kitties," one of several that come around for the food I put in a bowl out there. I think at least a couple of them are homeless, but I'm not so sure about this guy. He was a lanky adolescent when he first started showing up, was absent for a long while, and now as you can see he's a well fed mature kitty. I call him Tuffy because he just looks tough. And sassy. He gives me looks that can only be considered sassy, wiggling his tail as he does so. I took the picture through the patio door so it's not as clear as it might be. I had put a storage box out there on its side, with a small blanket in it, hoping to offer shelter to them, but he's the only one I've seen use it. You can see the spot of orange on his nose. There's another one elsewhere on him, but mostly he's tabby and white. That is a pretty cat!

So that's what Tuffy looks like! I have one just like him in the barn but he's a little darker in color and his ear flaps have seen better days.

Oh, what pretty cockatiels! I love birds! We always had parakeets or canaries when I was a kid. Sunday I was in the Farm supply store and they have birds for sale. Cockatiels, a small green parrot of some type and finches. They also had Bourke Parakeets. I'd never seen those before. So beautiful! I was sorely tempted to buy them. But then I remembered...CAT! That would be a pretty expensive gourmet meal for him. Besides, I think it's too chilly in my house for a bird. Maybe someday we'll move to a warmer climate.

I like to look at birds like that, but I don't want any. They are too noisy. One of my aunts had a big white one and we couldn't hold a conversation because it was always squawking. ;D

So I have to share pix of my other outdoor cats. The first one is the one I'm sure is a female (I also think she's spayed). I call her Little Gray. She's a little sweetie but very shy. The second one is the two toms, Blackie and Big Gray. You can see what a big guy he is. They were having a little faceoff in my yard. Big Gray finally gave up. Blackie has decided my yard is his territory and he doesn't yield. Little Gray is his girlfriend, sort of. They come to the patio together every evening. Blackie apparently got under an oily car a couple of months ago, thus the spot on his back. It is slowly clearing. He won't let me near him to try to clean it off. You can't see but Blackie has a white bib, white slippers on his front paws and white boots in back.

Man, those are some big toms! My neighbor asked for one of our cats about a year ago, and every time I see Merry (yes, once upon a time there was also a Pippin), I am amazed at how big that boy got!

No, this is not a picture of a dead cat. This is Princess, in ecstasy, soaking up the sun on the back of the sofa.

Ah yes -- doing the dead critter impersonation. Ours freak me out by doing that. I have to go stare at them to detect breathing... or else poke 'em till they move.

She was in that position for some time. Long enough for me to get the camera anyway. She loves to sleep in the sun coming through the front window, and pesters me to pull up the venetian blinds by slapping at the blinds with her paw. Brandy likes the sun, but not as much as Princess.

In the winter Snow spends a lot of time at the top of the cat condo because it is in a south facing window and she loves the sun.

ROTFL she looks like Duke only when he does that his back legs stick out flat about two or three inches off the floor. Today he was doing that and fell over when his snoring woke him up lol

I took this picture on one of the last sunny days we had--goldfinches sunning themselves on a winter day at the top of one of my peach trees.

Love the finches Cal Gal! It's funny...I never think of California as having winter bare trees. ( Hulllooo self! ) I love finches, can't wait for our fun birds to return in the spring and start singing. Snerk Ace! That video is darling and hysterical. ;D ;D ;D

This is my 20lb, ill tempered feline. Her name is Molly, and while she looks like she's enjoying our garden, don't be fooled. She hates nature.

Have you seen this piano-playing cat, Nora, on YouTube? Quite a sensation, and there are numerous videos. Apparently she appeared on TV as well. Really rather amazing, especially in the one she appears to copy her piano teacher owner. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ860P4iTaMShe even has her own T-shirts available and other stuff. My cats never do anything like that to make me money!

That's a neat picture, Ace. The water is so clear and your height above the water gives it a unique perspective. I haven't seen a turtle in the wild, only at the rehab/hospital facility here in Daytona.
