You're gecko buddy puts the Geico gecko to shame. We only have drab little Mediterranean geckos here (transplants - like most Floridians).

Hmm, no 'ick' reactions. I wonder if there is a correlation between the female mentality that enjoys things like The Wild Wild West and not having any of the 'silly female' squeamishness?
I love startling people by telling them the story of the time my mom and I happily volunteered to help a neighbor lady carry her 9-foot Burmese python upstairs! He was so handsome and very cooperative, just too heavy for one small person to carry up a steep set of stairs.

I didn't offer my "ick" reaction because I didn't want to disturb the vibes. I don't particularly care for lizards or reptiles of any sort. One of my cousins worked for the State Dept. and lived in Saigon during the Vietnam war. She eventually became accustomed to all the lizards that skittered through the house, primarily because they were valuable in keeping the house clear of insects. But she still doesn't like them in particular.

It was in a paper bag in the car, got loose and climbed up her leg while she was driving. Fortunately we were stationary at the time. Man, did she scream!

Just now catching up on some of these threads. Been sick as a dog. But I LOVE lizards! Just the little ones... I think they are such facinating creatures and some are so beautifully colored. I have toy lizards on top of my computer monitor at work! (Bet you'd have never guessed that about me, CalGal. ) "Gecky" is gorgeous!

Gosh, DT. Where do YOU get to sleep? ;D
What a lovely family. I imagine the combs and brushes get quite a bit of use with all that long hair.

Gosh, DT. Where do YOU get to sleep? ;D What a lovely family. I imagine the combs and brushes get quite a bit of use with all that long hair. Fortunately, normally only 1 or 2 dogs and 1 cat sleeps with me, but on a cold night I will have the whole crowd. Then I can barely turn over. And, yes, I spend a fair amount of time grooming. I sit on the floor with the dogs. It takes about 1 1/2 episodes of WWW to groom the three dogs. Snow kitty comes and gets groomed any time I am sitting watching TV. Chance has to be captured and pinned down so only gets done occasionally.

Oh how cute!!!!!They're all so beautiful. Really like your horse picture, too. Hey DT, the cat on the left, Snow?, looks evil with the red eyes The red eyes suit her (she actually has blue eyes), she can be a little devil.

Darla has grown into a beautiful lady cat. Her markings are similar to my Princess, but it appears she has more orange mixed in with the tabby. Princess is simply gray-black stripes with the white shawl and belly.

We were thinking perhaps our Hobbes (aka Houdini Girl) had gone missing permanently. Couldn't find her for about a day and a half. And then she showed up again this morning and REFUSED to be brought into the house. *sigh*

Apple, that is awesome to see Darla come into her own. I remember when you got her and she hid in the basement! And the rest of the crew looks like they are growing up too. Better watch that cougar, you might have 1 less child.

You know, Cal Gal, you're right, she is orange under those stripes I see it, but don't see it, you know? When you ruffle her fur it is definitely a bright peachy orange. We love her, but I miss my old boys still. They were so lovey, and while Darla loves us, it's a stand-offish love. DT I can't believe we ever got her out of the basement! She got outside in July of 2010 and we thought she was gone for good. We found her, but she ran away from us. Got her back with food, of course. She hasn't been outside since, though she sniffs at the screen door a lot when the weather is nice. That is the 'old' cougar uniform. Her dad said it was probably the same one they used when I was in school, but no, it's newer than 25 years old! It's a lot better than the one we had back then. Lighter fur, duh. Cougars are GOLD not brown. Haha! My kids were ready to head home at this point. There was a pounding drizzle (I know, seems an odd combo, but it's true) and it looked a lot like a fine snow. So it was time to go home. Blackhawk was winning 30 to 7 at that point. The next morning friends woke to snow up in the mountains about 2.5 hours from here.

Here's one of Princess in a similar pose. You can see that the arrangement of white and tabby is very much alike.

Funny that my feral cat (now reformed) and yours both look like Princess! That was funny to open this thread and see her, Cal Gal! Darla has a spot on her nose that princess doesn't.

Princess's eyes are green. I'll bet she outweighs both of yours too--about 17 pounds! I have 2 outdoor tabby and white cats that come around. One is very petite and a lighter gray, while the other has orange spots here and there. There's also a black and white cat. All of them will come eat the food I put out, but won't let me near them. I have not yet figured out if they are "feral" or just opportunists who like my buffet better than what they get at home.

And then she showed up again this morning and REFUSED to be brought into the house. *sigh* Well, now we know why. Hobbes the Houdini Girl had kittens! Three cute little babies. We have looked but not touched yet. One is orange tabby (like Hobbes -- youngest says it will be named Luca if a girl, Dexter if a boy), one is black with orange spots (son named that one Nicola, after Tesla), and the last one is, I think, solid black, and is mine to name -- I insisted! However, daughter #3 balked at me naming the kitty Artemus or Artie. So... I need a name for a kitty. Any suggestions?

Antoinette? Since my darling at home is named Artemus I'm planning on naming the baby I'm hoping to adopt from the shelter Lily.

Oh, that's cute! Don't know yet if my baby is a queen or a tom -- kittens are notoriously hard to sex till they're about, oh, four months old or so.

Diana was her counter part with the Romans. I think eather one would be suitable for a cat. Note Artemus is the male spelling of the name. So it would be even more suitable, it wouldn't matter if the kitty is a Tom or a Queen, just use the correct spelling for whatever gender it is. Will mama be getting spayed soon? If there is a Tom around and she gets out, she can get pregant again. Spotted Pony

Good job, Java! Those critters just didn't want to go in the pen, did they?
Do they use the same sheep for every dog's trial? And on that subject, is that 3 sheep or 2 sheep and a goat? Couldn't quite tell what the gold one was for sure.
