I just read about that too. I remember him best from "The Poseidon Adventure". Another sad loss--Geez it seems like every few days someone famous is passing away this year!!!

Another wonderful actor. Lit up the screen in every role he did, plus had a long, full life.
RIP Ernest Borgnine. You will be missed.

As one of my friends pointed out on Facebook, RIP Mermaid Man. He and Tim Conway had been doing the voices of underwater sea heroes Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy on SpongeBob SquarePants. That's how my daughter recognized him when the news story came on earlier this week.

Yeah I knew he did that too--I've seen every Spongebob ep since they started making them with my kid and his friends too. I wonder if they wont make anymore eps with them from now on.

Yeah it's so sad this year with all these celebrities passing away every week. The most shocking one was Sylvester Stallone's son on Friday--he was only 36 and soon to be married from what I hear. Still waiting to see what happened there--doesn't look good but Sly is completely devastated.

It has been quite the year for losing them, hasn't it? Celeste Holm was in an episode of Fantasy Island with Ross.

Ms. Holm also did a Stump the Stars with Ross as well as a tv show (perhaps a pilot) called Honestly Celeste.
Watching a McHale's Navy marathon on AntennaTV today.

He was in another hospital/medical show, Medical Center. I remember him from an old short-lived western series called The Dakotas (1963). I see he was in a number of Hawaiian Eye episodes so RC probably knew him. And also appeared in Centennial--among many, many other shows.

Not sure if any of you have ever listened to his music, but the legendary crooner Tony Martin passed away a few days ago of natural causes at 98 years of age. RIP Tony. You will be missed.

William Windom, Ben Victor in Flying Pie Plate, passed away yesterday at 88. I remember him from Murder She Wrote, and also the series for which he won an Emmy, My World and Welcome To It, which I enjoyed very much. He was 88.
Thanks for the memories, William.

Oh, I like Phyllis Diller. She was funny. She knew how to make fun of herself. 95! She didn't get started as a comedienne until she was 37, but she still had nearly 50 years to make us laugh. Thanks, Phyllis! RIP.

Not a movie, stage or TV star, but a REAL STAR. A courageous man who made history that no one can ever duplicate.
Thank you, Neil Armstrong.
I remember so vividly sitting on the floor in the living room to watch the moon landing. My parents and sisters were there. It seemed like something the whole family should be together for. A breathless moment in history.
Rest in Peace, Neil Armstrong. A hero indeed.

Yes, a friend from the US phoned us in the wee small hours here.
The Better Half has been on his online space forums; as well as fielding calls from local radio and TV, ever since - he's their go-to guy for space stuff.
All these people we love and admire, at least we know they died leaving a great legacy. An awesome body of work whether on screen or in real life.
WE TREASURE THE INSPIRATION.

Steve Franken passed away. He played Le Fou in Bottomless Pit (you know, the crazy monkey dude). He was in a lot of shows I liked when I was young, and apparently was still working; his obit listed a show due out in 2013.

Singer Andy Williams passed. He was a real star back when. We never missed his TV show (with the Osmond family), and his Christmas show was a classic. Thanks for the entertainment, Andy. RiP.
