You mean you trust somebody with a name like Bunk Strutts and a blog called Tacky Raccoons to have good taste? and from PE Tacky Racoons and Stray Polyps from the internet? Eeeeewwww! I'm afraid it's credibility is slightly challenged. These names have nothing to do with taste and everything to do with eye catching titles. ;D Their taste is obviously good seeing as how they know Ross is the best! Listen to your Admin.

I'm afraid you ladies are deluded and desperate, ready to believe anything you read. Why do you need "confirmation" of Mr. Martin's talent from such... people?

Tell me something though--when you connect to the site, do you see pictures in between the comments? I don't. Just blank space. Not even the usual little icons that indicate pix should be there.

I see pics between the comments. The WWW one is the freeze frame used in...looks like season one to me. And I don't need confirmation of Mr. Martin's talent from anyone. It's just kind of nice to see that someone in the general public also recognizes his talent and puts his opinion out there. Most folks tended to see him as the 'sidekick' with no real value to the show. RC was the star. Period, paragraph, in their eyes.

Well... RC WAS the star! But the show would not have been as appealing without the camaraderie between the two agents IMO. ;D I know that I originally watched the show for Jim West, and enjoyed Artemus Gordon. I was old enough to appreciate the certain charms of James West!

Folks, You doubters don't know what you're missing. Lookee here. The lovely and gracious Mrs. Strutts married me because we both agreed that Ross Martin/Artemus Gordon made the show, and NOT prettyboy whatsisname. We disagreed on just about everything else, but WWW held our marriage together. We had problems when the retread movie came out because it trashed the original intentions of WWW. We had kids by then, and we both agreed that just because a lame-o movie sucked donkeys it was not a reason to get a divorce. It's all good now. Cordially, and All In Fun, Bunk Strutts www.tackyraccoons.com

But why do Artie/RM fans seem to feel the need to diss Jim/RC in order to build their boy up? Us Jim's Jewels seem to have far more confidence and are able to admire Artie/RM all the while we are feasting our eyes on "prettyboy whatsisname" (who happens to be a fairly decent actor when given the opportunity to show it). ;D And as has been mentioned a few times, the show was called the "Wild Wild WEST" and not the "Wild Wild GORDON."

Aw... CalGal, please don't be touchy because the Angels are doing a little fist-bumping. WWW is always promoted and remembered as RC's show. So if someone happens to prefer the second banana it's perceived as tearing down the one who's supposed to be in first place. If we simply thought of them as equals, there wouldn't be any perception of tearing down one or the other.
Of course we all know that it wouldn't be WWW without RC. I really think that neither of them could have carried the show alone. (And the one who said "prettyboy whatsisname" isn't a regular poster here, so should not be taken as representative.)

True, I may be a bit "touchy." But look at it this way. What do you suppose would happen if I or another "Jewel" posted something detrimental or disrespectful to RM, in jest or not? Although both boards bear the WWW name, they are primarily dedicated to the "acting god." I happen to feel that the success of the show was due to BOTH actors and the chemistry between them, whether or not that friendship carried to their off-screen lives. It worked onscreen. A testimony to that is how much Artie is missed in season 4, how much was lost without his presence. I seldom watch any of those episodes. Interesting that the blog guy found this board so quickly, huh?

I always thought it was because RC fans were too engrossed in inspecting the many many screencaps looking for rips and tears ;D But I do agree that without BOTH of them the show wouldn't have lasted one season. It needs them both to work.

One of the reasons why I enjoy episodes like Murderous Spring, Death Masks and Pistoleros so much is that the concentration is on acting rather than appearance--for both guys. When I was younger I might have not noticed such nuances as I do now.
And that's not to say I don't notice when Jim has his shirt off, or scenes like the one in Skulls where Artie looks particularly appealing and sexy while in Richmond's office. (You notice I don't neglect posting pix of those scenes!)
Maybe there are two "wilds" in Wild Wild West because there were two wild guys!

A testimony to that is how much Artie is missed in season 4, how much was lost without his presence. I seldom watch any of those episodes. Interesting that the blog guy found this board so quickly, huh? I don’t think anyone is tearing down RC/Jim in order to boost RM/Artie. I can’t speak for any other Angel but myself but I know I can appreciate RC’s looks and talent as an actor even though I prefer RM in all ways. I’m not sure that confidence has anything to do with it. More that everyone knows that RC was the star of the show, it was built around him and his character, and RM is more the one who gets dissed or torn down in some way. ‘Second banana’ is a good example. That’s not exactly a complimentary reference. And yes you do post as many fine pics of RM/Artie as you do RC/Jim. Much appreciated too! I always thought the title was a double entndre. West referring to the setting as well as the man. I haven’t heard anyone say anything detrimental or disrespectful to RC. If they did, I’m sure there’d be a lot of folks up in arms. This board may be more dedicated to the Acting God but not the other one. And that, I think, is just because of Admin’s preference. Although, there is nothing stopping anyone from starting as many RC/Jim threads as they want or posting as much info on RC/Jim as they want. The other board is older and is the one mentioned to RC and CRN and Sue Kessler. IMMHO, that’s why the other board has more on RC than this one. Many of us, Angels or Jewels, listen and participate in RC’s weekly show on CRN. As an Angel, why would I do that if I didn’t have some appreciation for RC and his talents? What would be the point? I agree that the success of the show was due to BOTH men, their camaraderie and their acting talents. Just my thoughts on the topic.
