Some episodes, like TNOT Pistoleros, seem to have perfect titles. Others, not so much.
I always feel that the titles of TNOT Returning Dead and TNOT Colonel's Ghost should have been switched. It took me a long time to remember which was which.
And there has to be a better title for TNOT Torture Chamber.
I'll chime in with a couple of ideas later, but feel free to jump in, with either serious or farcical new titles that seem to suit the episode better.

The Night Of The Bottomless Pit could be The Night Of Devil's Island. In another thread, someone mentioned it being odd that everyone was speaking English in a French prison colony. Actually they were all speaking French, but it was translated into English so that viewers could understand what was going on. Note that no one spoke with a French accent, in fact the only one who spoke with an accent was the Brit/Aussie prisioner Jim helps. He would have been speaking French with an English/Aussie accent. In an episode of Bonanza, they also used this device. Hop Sing, who spoke broken English, was with a group of countrymen, all of whom, including Hop Sing, were speaking perfect English. It was to show that they were actually speaking Chinese, a language they were all fluent in. On Devil's Island, most, if not all, conversations would have been in French, so no need for French accents.

I thought it was because they didn't want to have to caption almost the entire episode. ;D

The original title of TNOT Winged Terror was TNOT Ominous Occulist--and I think they should have stuck with it!

The original title of TNOT Winged Terror was TNOT Ominous Occulist--and I think they should have stuck with it! Well this one was originally meant to end season 3--and would have had Artie in it too if it weren't for RC smashing his head in Fugitives. Also lost Sorcerer and Waxen Terror because of all that in Season 3. Way too bad--All could have been much better! Btw I'm thinking about new episode titles now too but just had to say that.

I just read it a couple days ago when I looked up WWW production order. I saw all those titles listed under Season 3 but never filmed.

Okay friends. As you can see I gave this question some very not serious consideration. I had many more eps I would not rename but these are the ones I thought could use a new title. ;D enjoy The Night of Sudden Death The Night of the Counterfeit Carnival Glowing Corpse: The Night of [the 'homage' to] Marie Curie [who discovered radium] no? The Night of the Deadly Element The Night That Terror Stalked the Town *** The Night of the Deathly Replica The Night of the Red-Eyed Madmen [just about any title would be better] The Night of the Lunatic Army The Night of the Fatal Trap The Night of the Three Terrible Mustaches jkjk The Night of the Woman Scorned? nope? The Night of the Wanted Man The Night of the Druid's Blood [if there had been even one Druid present, okay, but honestly!] The Night of the Femme Fatale The Night of the Freebooters The Night almost identical to the Lunatic Army... ok, ok... The Night of the Renegade Regiment The Night of the Raven *** The Night of the Very, Very Big Orange Tabby Cat... no? ok The Night of the Brobdingnag Potion [see Gulliver's Travels] The Night of the Skulls The Night of the Murderer's Row The Night of the Infernal Machine The Night of the Jaundiced Jurist The Night of the Tartar The Night of the Horrible accents? nope? The Night of the Tricksters The Night of the Deadly Bubble The Night of the Undersea Terror, nope, too much like Underground Terror ok The Night of the Subterranean Threat The Night of the Wolf The Night of the Flying Plush Wolf... naw? The Night of the Horrible accents? [no that should go to Tartar or Cossacks] The Night of the King in Hiding The Night of Montezuma's Hordes The Night of it coulda been soooo much better... okay The Night of The Aztec Trove The Night of the Running Death The Night of the Strangler The Night of the Arrow The Night of the Indian Plot The Night of the Tycoons*** The Night of Political Incorrectness ... I know, I know... The Night of the Stupid Blond Youngster... okay, sorry The Night of the Deadly Director [as in Board of Directors]

"Running Death" never did make sense for that episode. Who was running? "Death" didn't run. "She" just traveled with the wagons, a genteel lady.
"Dancing Death" is another. I never saw death "dance." TNOT Kung Fu Panda... I mean Prince? Is that what Artie said the prince was doing? The TNOT of Two Not Very Attractive Dames with Accents?
